Design at the viewing distance
A banner that reads well on a laptop may be crowded from across a room. Put the main message first, then the minimum supporting details needed for the event. Use the printer’s template for the chosen system, because pockets, seams and concealed areas can affect the usable layout. Do not assume that an arbitrary percentage of bleed suits every banner. Ask for the required file format and template before producing the final artwork.
Approve more than the picture
The proof should settle the dimensions, printed sides, colours and finishing instructions as well as spelling. Identify which version is approved, and keep a copy with the quotation. For a replacement skin, include the existing hardware reference. For an outdoor display, discuss the installation environment and mounting requirements; a printed fabric is not a guarantee that the full assembly is suitable for every weather condition.
